This role will be a combination of 80% technical statement of work (SOW) and 20% functional homeroom manager (FHR) SOW.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) THE FOLLOWING:Lead a section of systems engineers (8-15 personnel)Be responsible for hiring, development, training, and retention of section talent. Hiring will include university and experienced hiring.Provide leadership and direction to team members and manage employee performance (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers)Responsible for day-to-day operation of the organization including employee movement and balancing of resources among programs, and resolving critical/urgent program/technical issues.Promote the professional development of the Systems Engineering team and foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.Provide clear assignments, helps employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, creates an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and builds a culture that motivates employees to their highest levels of performance.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of combined technical and management experience, or Master’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 7 years of combined technical and management experience.Experience in at least one of the following areas:System Design, Requirements and Verification, Operations Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, Systems Analysis, System Architecture, Mission Integration or Model Based Systems Engineering, IFC, Specialty Engineering, or other applicable SE competencyExperience leading an engineering team or project.Experience leading an engineering team or project.Must possess an active DoW Secret clearance that is in scope or currently enrolled in continuous evaluation, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (PAR) access as determined by business needs.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Excellent communication skills.Proven leadership skills.Prior Functional Management Experience.Engineering Management Experience.Agile project management (manage & prioritize workflow).Ability and desire to provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to direct reports.Familiarity with AGILE, DOORS, MBSE with CAMEO, DODAF 2.0.Primary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
