Therapist - Speech Language Pathologist

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized speech and language therapy services to patients in a short-term acute care facility. Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans to improve communication and swallowing functions.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records using Cerner charting system.
• Conduct therapy sessions, ensuring appropriate techniques are applied within scope of practice.
• Adhere to facility policies, safety standards, and compliance requirements, including completing necessary lab work and certifications.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid CCC-SLP certification from ASHA.
• Possess at least 1 year of relevant clinical experience.
• Registered for BLS certification.
• Be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state.
• Comfortable floating within multiple units and facilities as needed.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
