Management Liability Claims Specialist

IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Management Liability Claims Specialist that can be located in any of our IAT locations. This role works a hybrid schedule that requires working from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely. While we prefer candidates to work from one of our IAT office locations, we are open to considering fully remote arrangements for the ideal candidate. Responsibilities Handle Management Liability Claims (EPL, D&O, Fiduciary, and Crime) for private and non‑profit businesses based on Claim Guidelines. Within authority limits, thoroughly analyze, investigate, negotiate, and resolve all levels of severity claims. Select, direct, and manage defense counsel, including approval of budgets. Develop litigation/file disposition strategy; attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials. Verify and analyze applicable coverage for reported claims. Follow operational policies and procedures, including compliance, regulatory, performance, and customer service standards. Prepare reports, including Large Loss Reports, for management, accurately reflecting loss development, potential/actual financial exposure, coverage issues, claim and recovery strategies. Establish a 24‑hour contact and maintain appropriate contact with all stakeholders throughout the life of the claim file. Identify and address recovery, contribution, and SIU opportunities. Set accurate and timely loss/expense reserves in compliance with Claim Guidelines. Draft correspondence, including coverage letters to stakeholders, as required. Support business partners on an as‑needed basis on various claim and underwriting related issues and marketing meetings. Maintain resident/nonresident adjuster licenses as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of management liability claims experience (including handling employment liability practices, directors & officers’ liability, and fiduciary liability coverages). In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of management liability claims, a high school diploma or GED with 9+ years of relevant litigation claims experience will be considered. Excellent coverage analysis skills with experience drafting coverage position correspondence. Experience handling litigated files and directing defense counsel. Excellent negotiation skills. Willingness to travel, average 1 day a month. Claims licensure as required by respective state(s). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to organize, multi‑task, and prioritize work. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze data, utilize sound judgment to draw conclusions, and make supported decisions. Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require current or future visa sponsorship for employment purposes. Compensation The annual gross salary range for this posting is $60,600 – $95,700. Actual salaries vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographic location. Total compensation includes a base salary, performance‑based bonus opportunities, 401(k) match, profit‑sharing opportunities, and additional benefits. Benefits 26 PTO Days (entry level) + 12 company holidays = 38 paid days off. 7% 401(k) company match and additional profit sharing. Hybrid work environment.
