Job Description:

Looking for a PHP developer with good experience in Laravel framework, and AWS. The person would be responsible to managing the nearshore team of 4 developers in Mexico, take up hands-on development as well as look for improvement opportunities in the existing process.

Project Details:

Client has contracts with numerous auto OEMs to build and maintain websites for individual dealerships. The current team processes the inventory feeds from these OEMs and manages the delivery of the processed data to the individual dealership websites, which run on Wordpress. Due to the growth of the number of OEMs and websites, there are two problems that they are trying to address:

1. The backlog of fixes and improvements they're contractually obligated to perform for all of the OEM customers continues to grow as they add more OEM customers.

2. The underlying system design has not scaled with the number of data feeds and the amount and type of data flowing through it as they've gone from 20 websites to 6000.

They need to relieve backlog pressure from the core inventory team on the OEM requests coming through so that those engineers can focus on item (2) above and start to refactor/rebuild our pipelines to deliver data faster and with higher reliability. So, they need a team of engineers to take over the OEM fixes and updates while they task the core team with infrastructure, build pipeline and design/architecture improvements.
