Pathologists' AssistantA growing healthcare organization is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant to support pathology services in a dynamic laboratory setting. This role is ideal for candidates with strong grossing experience who are comfortable working independently in a high-volume environment.Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform gross examination, dissection, and dictation of human tissue specimensSelect representative sections for embedding, staining, and microscopic analysisAssist with intraoperative consultations, including frozen section preparationEnsure proper specimen accessioning and documentationObtain and prepare tissue samples for specialized studies (e.g., immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry)Photograph gross specimens as needed and collaborate with pathologists on specialized proceduresRetrieve and review patient clinical data to support diagnostic workflowsMaintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and cleanliness of grossing stationsEnsure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (including HIPAA)Identify and resolve discrepancies or workflow issues as they ariseQualificationsBachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related fieldCompletion of an accredited Pathologists' Assistant programASCP certification requiredStrong knowledge of human anatomy, histology techniques, and lab proceduresDemonstrated ability to gross independently and manage workload efficientlyExperience with laboratory systems and reporting tools preferredPreferred SkillsExperience in high-volume pathology environmentsStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervisionExcellent communication and teamwork skillsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceRelocation assistance availableComprehensive benefits packageOpportunities for professional growth and development
