Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical - Pediatric

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric and adult patients within a medical-surgical unit, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and patient safety standards. Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments accurately according to physician orders and protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs, detect changes in condition, and escalate as needed.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress in the electronic medical record system.
• Educate patients and their families on health management and post-discharge care.
• Collaborate with charge nurses, physicians, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment in compliance with hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Valid registered nurse (RN) license in the state.
• Minimum of 2 years pediatric and adult med-surg nursing experience.
• BLS and PALS certifications are required.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend and occasionally holidays.
• Strong clinical assessment skills with experience caring for diverse patient populations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
