Associate Manager, Technical Training

What to Expect The Associate Manager, Manufacturing Training at Giga Nevada is responsible for leading a dynamic manufacturing training system to support high-volume operations in battery cell production, drive units, and vehicle assembly. This role focuses on building and directing a skilled training team, rolling out the Training and Certification System, and partnering with Workstation Trainers, Production Management, and cross-functional leaders to hit training goals. The ideal candidate is a proactive, innovative leader with strong organizational skills, capable of driving safety-focused, quality-driven training initiatives that boost process efficiency, foster continuous improvement, and adapt to Giga Nevada's evolving production demands.
What You'll Do

• Lead the implementation of training programs by collaborating with Production, Quality, Leads, and Workstation Trainers; oversee Training Coordinators and a team of technical training instructors to deliver specialized, hands-on sessions across manufacturing departments, ensuring alignment with leadership priorities
• Direct and mentor technical training instructors in developing and executing advanced technical curricula, including simulations, certifications, and troubleshooting modules tailored to Giga Nevada's equipment and processes
• Conduct regular internal training audits for compliance; contribute to product-specific new hire onboarding programs emphasizing safety protocols, quality standards, and critical processes to accelerate ramp-up and minimize errors
• Develop, facilitate, and refine training sessions, learning pathways, and recommendations; partner with cross-functional teams to revise manufacturing instructions, assess training needs, and prioritize initiatives based on production feedback
• Manage organizational KPIs for training effectiveness, including completion rates, certification pass rates, knowledge retention, and downstream impacts on production metrics (e.g., defect reduction and throughput); track progress, generate reports, and implement strategies to achieve or exceed targets
• Champion the adoption of a Learning Management System (LMS) for seamless training assignment, tracking, and analytics; drive continuous innovation in programs to enhance scalability and adaptability for Giga Nevada's growth
• Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing training, with hands-on expertise in on-the-job and classroom delivery for production teams
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with continuous improvement tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and a track record of personal leadership and accountability
• Preferred: Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, or educational methodologies; prior experience with LMS platforms and KPI-driven performance management in a high-tech manufacturing environment
