POSITION OVERVIEWChildren’s Minnesota is seeking a compassionate Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our collaborative behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, acute psychiatric care through daily inpatient rounding and comprehensive consultation-liaison services across medical floors, the Emergency Department (ED).The Inpatient Mental Health Program offers a multi-disciplinary care team of psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, child life therapists, mental health specialists, and music therapists. Care for youth as young as 6 years old and up to 18 years old, and still in high school. This position offers an excellent work-life balance with a highly favorable, infrequent weekend call rotation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESInpatient Care: Conduct daily weekday rounding, admissions, and acute psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents on our acute inpatient unit.Consultation Services: Provide timely, high-quality psychiatric consultations and stabilization strategies for pediatric patients admitted to inpatient medical units, surgical floors, the Emergency Department (ED).On-Call & Coverage: Participate in a highly sustainable, well-structured on-call framework with an additional separate compensation stipend.o Weekend Rotation: Scheduled roughly 1 out of every 8 weekends (approximately 6 times per calendar year).o Perform in-person rounds on both Saturday and Sunday for the inpatient psychiatric unit, ensuring all unit patients are seen, and notes are authored at least once over the weekend (prioritizing admissions, discharges, and defined acute needs).o Support weekend coverage for consults across the medical units and the ED, managed primarily through an efficient phone-consultation workflow to maintain organizational flexibility.Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited school of medicine.Training: Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited General Psychiatry Residency and a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.Licensure: Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), with an active Minnesota state medical license (or immediate eligibility to obtain one).Physical DemandsPlease click here to view the Physical DemandsAll job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S. Government Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.Children’s Minnesota is proud to be an equal opportunity employer whose staff is representative of its community and considers qualified applicants for open positions without regard to race, color, creed, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity or expression, age, veteran status, disability, pregnancy, citizenship status, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state, or local law.Job SummaryJob number: 260271IWDate posted : 2026-10-07Profession: PhysicianEmployment type: Full-time
