About the Position

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to provide speech and language support services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The ideal candidate will assist with therapy implementation, student progress monitoring, and documentation while supporting students with a variety of communication needs in a school-based setting.

Job Duties

• Assist the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist with implementation of individualized therapy plans
• Provide direct speech and language support services to students as directed by the supervising SLP
• Support students working on articulation, language development, fluency, social communication, and other communication goals
• Collect data and document student progress during therapy sessions
• Assist with preparation of therapy materials and activities
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families as appropriate
• Support implementation of Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals under the direction of the supervising SLP
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow school district procedures
• Provide services in accordance with Texas state regulations, district policies, and the supervising SLP’s plan of care

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with an emphasis in speech-language pathology, communication sciences and disorders, or a related field
• Valid Texas Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Completion of required SLPA educational coursework and clinical experience requirements
• Must work under the supervision of a Texas licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
• Knowledge of speech and language development and school-based therapy practices
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, educators, and related service providers
• Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements
