As an assistant director of admission, you will travel to school specific events, information sessions, and more to represent the university to prospective students, build ongoing professional and institutional relationships, and increase positive awareness of SCAD in the region. Travel to these strategically identified high schools, community colleges, four-year colleges, and universities will be planned in conjunction with your regional director and teammates. After these sessions, you will follow-up with prospective students, preferably via phone or email, to discuss their interests and answer questions about the admission process and opportunities at SCAD. You will arrive at such sessions with the goal of facilitating a successful college search process for students and will maintain professional conduct in compliance with NACAC guidelines.

When traveling, you will deliver creative classroom presentations that engage students at all levels and individually meet with students to provide information about the application process and supporting documents as well as to provide portfolio counseling. You will also lead information sessions and similar activities for parents, teachers, and counselors. Responsibilities include selecting participants and extending invitations to attend SCAD Educator Forum at which you will then serve as the official host. In collaboration with the office for career and alumni success, you will use SCAD alumni and parent ambassadors in support of university recruitment efforts in your assigned region.

In this role, you will monitor regular application and enrollment reports to evaluate the results of activities to be used for future planning. You will ensure timely follow-up communications with prospective students via phone calls, LivePerson chat, emails, and social media outlets to provide information and answer questions. Proactive follow-up with prospective students will guarantee the highest proportion of right-fit students at SCAD. Responsibilities include assistance with admitted and deposit paid calls, the attendance of awards ceremonies to announce scholarship winners, and participation in special events and occasional evening and weekend work.

In this position, you will keep thorough records through the management of student, parent, teacher, and counselor information data in Salesforce in compliance with FERPA. Other Salesforce responsibilities include researching, entering, and updating all travel management data; managing all educator contacts; and promptly entering all planned, confirmed, and completed events to the master recruitment calendar. You will create and maintain an individual travel calendar through Outlook, providing access to the regional director, executive director, and assistant to the executive director. Among other duties, you will meet with prospective students who visit the university, lead tours, and attend SCAD Days and Educator Forums as assigned. You will also assist with summer programs, cover LivePerson shifts, and volunteer for other events as needed.

As an assistant director, you will attend summer and winter staff training in Savannah and Atlanta. You will stay up to date with university policies, events, accolades, and programs of study through the SCAD catalog, website, social media outlets, newsletters, videos, and more. Additionally, you will mentor new staff, sharing relevant information as appropriate. It is also crucial that you develop a strong partnership with admission advisers to involve them in recruitment activities and regularly provide feedback and ideas to admission leadership.

The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent presentation and communication skills. They can maintain flexibility throughout the recruitment year to allow for institutional and personal growth.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Ability to travel extensively
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
