Description
American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT(T) certification and 2+ years of experience, proficient with the Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator, for an outpatient cancer center setting.
Details
- Work in a cancer center treating adult acute care and outpatient populations
- Utilizes Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator and ARIA treatment planning system
- Treats benign brain tumors, heterotopic bone, keloids, and prophylactic cases using external beam therapy, IMRT, and SRS
- Provides treatment for patients with Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, kidney, pancreatic, and testicular cancers
- Uses Epic for electronic charting
- Monday through Friday day shift schedule with 4x10-hour shifts, with later hours possible based on patient volume
- No on-call requirements
- Travelers are expected to float unless otherwise stated
Requirements
- ARRT(T) and BLS certification required
- License required if applicable
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required
- Epic experience within the last 18 months required, including a passing score on the Epic competency exam
- Proficiency with Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in chart check, beam modifying/positioning, CBCT/kV/mV imaging, and use of wedges
- Knowledge of radiation safety and isolation precautions/PPE
- Ability to care for patients in restraints and perform lift/transfer techniques
- Candidates requiring respirator fit testing must be clean-shaven
Additional Information
- Deliver radiation therapy treatments and perform beam modifying/positioning and imaging as part of daily patient care
- Provide patient and family education throughout treatment course
- Maintain radiation safety standards and appropriate PPE use
- Accepts local candidates at the same rate
- Open to candidates with prior travel assignment experience
