Diesel Mechanic

A Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing various mechanical maintenance and repairs on offshore facilities. The role requires expertise in diesel engines, with a focus on troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems on offshore platforms.

Responsibilities

1. Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on Cat Diesel and Detroit 71 & 53 series engines.
2. Service, maintain, and test engine shutdown systems.
3. Troubleshoot diesel engine issues and complete field repairs as needed.
4. Apply knowledge of engine systems and engine controls to ensure proper function.
5. Conduct in-frame overhauls and complete rebuilds when required.
6. Repair pumps and other mechanical equipment as needed.
7. Communicate daily status and production reports to customer representatives.
8. Read and interpret drawings and technical manuals for repair guidance.
9. Promote good housekeeping methods on the platform to maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience offshore/in-land as a diesel engine mechanic.
• Willingness to work a call-out schedule.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Valid TWIC card.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to travel by helicopter or boat and use a swing rope.
