Staff Designer — Luxury Residential & Commercial Interior Design Firm (Malibu, CA)
Hybrid | Part-Time Remote with Weekly Meetings in Office
About Us
Barbara Grushow Designs is an established, award-winning interior design firm based in Malibu with twenty years of experience in high-end residential remodels, rebuilds, and new construction, along with large luxury commercial projects. We're a busy, collaborative studio, and we're looking for a Staff Designer who can hit the ground running.
The Role
You'll work directly with the principal designer and project team on active projects from concept through installation. This is a hybrid position — work remotely with required weekly in-person meetings at our Malibu office.
Responsibilities
- Develop space plans and furniture plans for residential and commercial interior design projects
- Creatively source materials, finishes, and furnishings; obtain and track samples
- Organize and maintain FF&E, project samples and binders.
- Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, architects, and contractors
- Support the team with project-related administrative tasks
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a staff or junior designer in a residential design firm
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required
- Experience with Studio Webware, Photoshop, and SketchUp is a plus
- Self-starter who is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and thrives with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to attend weekly meetings in Malibu
