Director of Engineering

Job DetailsThis position is responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in support of achieving organizational goals, inclusive of major capital projects, engineering excellence and support to plant operations.To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Essential Functions Statement(s)Lead and support the culture of our people through facilitation of a safe work environment and team member communication, development and engagement.Ensure strong execution standards for direct plant and project engineers, including contractor management in the areas of safety behaviors, installation quality, and commissioning readiness.Provide engineering leadership and technical support for MCC process optimization with an emphasis on safety, quality, change management principles, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement systems.Execute continuous improvement projects that improve capacity, system performance (downtime reduction), waste elimination and capability across the enterprise.Ensure adherence to OSHA, USDA, FDA and other identified safety & quality compliance regulations.Support and lead MCC's Mission, Vision and Values Advancement in the areas of Integrity, Innovation, Excellence, Collaboration and Accountability.Manage multiple concurrent capital projects, balancing priorities, resources, and timelines across a network of manufacturing facilities.Instill a high sense of urgency and accountability to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and meeting technical performance requirements.Lead and collaborate with cross-functional team to ensure alignment and a robust decision making process.Ownership of manufacturing asset inventories to ensure proper asset utilization and equipment lifecycle management.Provide leadership and execution for technical solutions in the areas of sustainability.Support Financial improvements in the areas of capital spend, operations, business growth and service.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Bachelors degree in mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or a related field, plus 10 years of progressive experience in a Ready To Eat food packaging environment in a large plant or multi-plant organizationEngagement that is consistent with company's core valuesQuickly develop relationships and trust with all stakeholdersStrong knowledge of plant operations and related equipment and systemsStrong oral / written communication skillsStrong conflict management / resolution skillsGreat financial stewardshipDemonstrated effective cross functional collaborationKnowledge of KPI reportingOperates with a sense of urgencyA strategic orientationProven grasp of CI principles and acts opportunistically within the context of business structureAbility to travel up to 20% of the timeEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
