Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care to critically ill and medically unstable patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced life support. The RN is responsible for assessing patient conditions, administering complex treatments, managing life-sustaining equipment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering safe, evidence-based care in a high-acuity critical care environment.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for critically ill patients.
• Continuously monitor patient status, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic parameters, and laboratory results.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and titratable vasoactive drips as prescribed.
• Manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation, advanced airway support, and continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Operate and monitor critical care equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, arterial lines, central venous catheters, and hemodynamic monitoring systems.
• Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition, medical emergencies, rapid response events, and code blue situations.
• Provide care for patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, shock, multi-organ dysfunction, neurological disorders, cardiac emergencies, trauma, and post-operative critical care needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, procedures, and recovery expectations.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
• Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies and procedures.
