About the Role:
The Jakes Place Behavioral Health Clinician plays a critical role in providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals across diverse populations within the United States. This position focuses on assessing, diagnosing, and treating behavioral health conditions through evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each client's unique needs. The clinician collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote recovery, resilience, and overall well-being. Additionally, the role involves continuous monitoring of client progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary, and providing crisis intervention when required. Ultimately, the clinician contributes to improving the quality of life for clients by fostering a supportive and therapeutic environment that encourages positive behavioral change and emotional health.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent in the United States.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience providing direct behavioral health services.
- Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse populations including children, adolescents, adults, and families.
- Training or certification in specialized therapeutic approaches such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) or motivational interviewing.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
- Bilingual proficiency or experience working with multicultural communities.
- Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and evaluations to identify behavioral health needs and formulate accurate diagnoses.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans based on best practices and client goals.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Maintain detailed and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
- Offer crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute behavioral health episodes.
- Engage in community outreach and education to promote mental health awareness and reduce stigma.

Additionally, proficiency with documentation and technology supports compliance and enhances service delivery, while cultural competence and crisis management skills ensure sensitive and responsive care across diverse client populations.
