Location:Fostoria Community HospitalDepartment:SurgeryWeekly Hours:0Status:Per DiemShift:Days (United States of America)Job Summary:As a Surgical Technician, you use your knowledge of anatomy, patient needs and departmental procedures to prepare for and manage surgical cases at ProMedica.You will ensure sterile field integrity by using aseptic techniques and addressing any breaks in sterile technique quickly.Teamwork is key in this role as you work with the circulating nurse to keep an accurate count of sponges, instruments, and sharps in accordance with department guidelines.The above summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by the positions. It should not be considered exhaustive.REQUIREMENTSEducation: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Must be a graduate of a Surgical Technology program or a Licensed Practical Nurse educational program.License: Current, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure from the state of employment if hiring into the LPN capacity.Certification: CPR required.PREFERRED REQUIREMENTSYears of Experience: Prior experience in a surgical setting preferred.Certification: Preferred Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST), certification from NCCT.ProMedica is a mission-driven, not-for-profit health care organization headquartered in Toledo, Ohio.
