Telemetry Technician

Position Summary The Telemetry Technician monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms for patients across the hospital, supporting early recognition of changes in clinical status. This role provides continuous observation of telemetry monitors, accurately identifies rhythm abnormalities, and promptly communicates significant changes to nursing and medical staff. Key Responsibilities Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize normal and abnormal patterns, and promptly notify appropriate nursing or medical staff of changes requiring intervention. Document rhythm strips, alarms, and significant events accurately in accordance with departmental standards and hospital policies. Maintain awareness of patient assignments, monitor function, and equipment status, ensuring that leads, alarms, and telemetry devices are operating correctly. Collaborate with nursing units to support safe patient monitoring, respond to inquiries, and assist in troubleshooting telemetry connections or equipment issues. Maintain patient confidentiality, follow established communication protocols, and support safe, organized workflow by coordinating information with the care team.
