The Work In this position, you will be an engineering leader managing an RMS Engineering and Technology (E&T) organization supporting the programs within the Radar, Electronic Warfare and Acoustic Systems (REAS) Integrated Engineering organization. The focus will be on systems, software and test engineering functional domains for the Ground Based and Multi-Mission Air Defense product line groups based in Syracuse NY, leading 16-22 systems/software/test engineers in the development of complex systems.• Manager will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate engineering processes, technical personnel, and design tools are applied and managed. • Staffing responsibilities include the projection and planning of appropriate staffing levels, recruiting and selection of interns, contractors, college hires and experienced professionals.• This role oversees a very diverse and highly skilled set of engineers in E&T. • The position will be responsible for program execution, driving technical and organizational strategy, instilling and maintaining engineering discipline, and enhancing employee experiences while focusing on functional management excellence. • Manager will be > 50% applied doing direct program tasking in some type of leadership and/or technical capacity within the Ground Based and Multi-Mission Air Defense radar product areas. • Fosters employee feedback, recognition, and engagement• Proactively communicates with all stakeholdersBasic Qualifications:- BS in Engineering Computer Science, Physics or STEM/Technical discipline with minimum of 9 years professional experience (or 7 years with a Masters degree) - Candidates must have the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance to at least the Secret level. - Experience with systems for testability, reliability and maintainability. - Detailed knowledge and understanding of systems engineering processes, the flow down of system requirements, and the interaction of system and subsystem requirements that result in a firm set of system and subsystem level performance requirements, subsystem integration, and system test. -Strong risk management experience and expertise, including identification, mitigation and abatement planning and trackingDesired Skills:- Broad background in systems engineering and with specific experience in Radar Systems Engineering, Software Engineering and/or Radar Integration and Test. Software Development process and methodologies knowledge is desired. Ground Based Radar product experience is preferred.-Demonstrated interpersonal, team-building skills, strong work ethic and self-motivation. Strong customer focus with a proven record of outstanding customer satisfaction.
