In this essential role, you’ll help ensure patients receive safe, accurate, and high-quality meals while supporting a clean and efficient kitchen environment. Schedule & Hours Business Hours: 5:30 AM – 7:30 PM Primary Shifts: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM 3:45 PM – 7:30 PM Additional shifts may include: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM *Weekend & Holiday Rotation Required **Must be able to work a combination of all shifts What You’ll Do Assemble patient meals accurately and efficiently according to menu and dietary guidelines Support tray line operations, dish room, sanitation, and kitchen assignments Ensure proper portioning, tray setup, and meal presentation Follow therapeutic diet requirements and distinguish between regular and modified diets Maintain food safety standards, including temperature control and cross-contamination prevention Uphold sanitation and safety standards in compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations Demonstrate a “patients come first” mindset in every interaction What You Bring Food service experience preferred Understanding of basic food safety and sanitation practices Ability to follow procedures and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Team-oriented mindset with a positive, service-driven attitude Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout your shift Comfortable working in kitchen and patient care environments Ability to follow infection prevention and safety protocols Why Choose ChristianaCare? After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.34 per hour. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
