Essential Job Functions Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders. Continuously observe and assess patient condition and care needs and report changes to the supervisor or physician. Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care in a timely manner. Participate, implement, and update the nursing care plan. Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment and achieve expected outcomes. Recognize changes in patient needs and responses requiring intervention and implement care to prevent or reduce risk. Accept responsibility for personal and professional accountability by complying with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act. Provide care utilizing infection control measures that protect both staff and patient according to OSHA standards. Educate patient and family regarding disease process, self‑care techniques, and prevention strategies. Maintain knowledge of competencies related to nursing through continuing education and internal learning programs. Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice. Current CPR certification. Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care policies and procedures. For specific states: South Carolina – 1 year of pediatrics experience; California – 1 year of experience under current nursing license; Louisiana – 1 year of experience as a licensed nurse. Continuing education as required by state. Preferences 6 months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting. Home health experience. Other Skills and Abilities Attention to detail. Time management. Effective problem‑solving and conflict resolution. Good organization and communication skills. Physical Requirements Speak, write, read, and understand English. Travel as needed. Lift up to 50 pounds. Sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance. Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, and twist for prolonged periods. Ability to sit and climb stairs. Visual and hearing acuity, strong sense of smell and touch. Respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport. Environment Work in a variety of environments, possibly involving allergens and other conditions.
