As a Security Officer - Courthouse Screener in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and respond to requests with professionalism and calm. What You'll Do: Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location. Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, corridors, stairwells, parking areas, and perimeter areas as directed by post orders. Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de‑escalating disputes and coordinating with site personnel and/or public responders as needed. Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit by checking credentials, directing foot traffic, and documenting unauthorized access attempts. Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and/or site contacts, and help to identify conditions that may lead to security‑related concerns. Minimum Requirements: Possess a concealed carry weapons permit. Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED. Be at least 21 years of age. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
