Job Details Our company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Cost Estimator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of high-profile construction projects, where you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate cost estimates and budgeting information. You will be part of a team that is committed to excellence, innovation, and the successful completion of projects on time and within budget. Responsibilities Developing detailed cost estimates for various construction projects, including material, labor, equipment, and time requirements. Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates. Consulting with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, and construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates, and resolve issues. Conducting regular risk assessments and identifying potential cost overruns. Preparing and maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors. Liaising with other professionals, such as construction managers, quantity surveyors, and engineers, to ensure that all costings are accurate. Presenting and explaining cost estimates to internal stakeholders and clients. Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in technology to enhance cost estimating procedures and accuracy. Qualifications A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry. In-depth knowledge of construction methods and materials, costs, and regulations. Proven experience with estimator software and other industry-specific software. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and estimates. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
