System Test Engineer

Job Title: System Test Engineer Location: Tewksbury, MA Type: Contract to Hire Compensation: $56.15 - $62.00 per hour Work Model: Onsite Hours: 40.0 hours per week Responsibilities Support testing and validation of airport checkpoint screening systems in a system test lab / integration test environment. Operate and monitor test equipment, set up test scenarios, and handle test articles such as bags. Perform hands‑on system testing, troubleshoot issues, and document results. Follow test procedures, verify system functionalities, and ensure performance, reliability, and operational requirements are met. Work with software applications, hardware components, and system workflows, including Linux and Windows operating systems. Support periodic lifting and movement of test articles, typically around 20 pounds. Coordinate with engineering, quality, operations, and program personnel to deliver testing objectives. Requirements BA or BS degree. Experience in system testing, integration testing, verification and validation, or related engineering test activities. Experience testing integrated hardware/software or complex electromechanical systems. Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, including basic troubleshooting and log collection. Ability to execute detailed test procedures and accurately document results. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. Hands‑on experience with test equipment, system components, and operational test setups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow safety procedures. Ability to lift and move test articles around 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
