Clinical Nurse II - ACC - Infusion Center - FT Days

Patient Care CoordinatorIncumbent provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in the Infusion Center. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Assists in patient research and reviews patient schedules against available protocols. Acts as a role model to students and Clinical Nurse's new to the unit. Functions as a (PCC)Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager.Required Qualifications:One year of Oncology experience or one year of MedSurg experience and completion of OCN Cancer Basics classMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobMust be willing to travel between locations within the health system as needed.Minimum of six months demonstrated nursing experienceKnowledge and practice of body mechanicsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishDemonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniquesCurrent chemotheropy/biotherapy card required within 3 months of hireCurrent California RN licenseCurrent BLS certificationAll external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in NursingAbility to work effectively with colleagues, physicians and others as part of a care teamAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health SystemPreferred Qualifications:Understanding of JCAHO requirementsOncology CertificationKnowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and formsBilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and familiesTotal Rewards:We offer a wealth of benefits to make working at UCI even more rewarding.
