Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Registered Nurse – Post-Anesthesia Care Unit

Shift: 8:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36

Current RN license in state of practice

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor

Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 1 year of hire or transfer into the department

One year of PACU or critical care experience

Provides nursing care to surgical patients in the immediate preoperative and postoperative period.

Monitors and manages airway, vital signs, and pain control for post-anesthesia patients.

Responds to emergency situations and implements appropriate nursing interventions.

Conducts physical assessments and recognizes symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress.

Administers medications and performs intravenous therapy including blood products.

Ensures proper positioning and stabilization of patients during recovery.

Call on a rotational basis may be required.
