Front Office Specialist – Primary City/State: Network Support Services Building 1 Department: Business Operations; Shift: Day; Category: Administrative Support. Responsibilities Ensure standardization of collections, end‑of‑day processes, and develop/update place of service reporting and reconciliation. Educate staff on policies and procedures related to the front office. Provide analytical support to establish and achieve revenue‑cycle goals and objectives. Track department performance in scheduling, registration, insurance benefit and eligibility verification, insurance verification, and other front‑office activities. Prepare monthly status reports on front‑office performance, proposing solutions to challenges. Research registration/authorization denials for trends. Assist with onboarding of new hires, evaluate work performance, audit work for accuracy, streamline workflows, coach, and develop employees to ensure productivity, quality, and alignment with mission, vision, and values. Assist employees with current tools for insurance verification. Train staff in policies and financial stewardship, ensuring accountability for financial integrity. Maintain knowledge of systems used and collaborate with the onsite practice manager/administrator on employee status and audit results. Communicate concerns, problems, and important information in an appropriate and timely manner. Keep revenue‑cycle manager updated on any issues or concerns. Interface with patients on various issues to assist with training and resolve patient concerns. Enter non‑clinical information accurately into the patient electronic medical record (EMR) system. Research and resolve A/R billing issues, fix errors, and process accordingly. Look up payer eligibility using payer websites or call payers to gather needed billing information. Update all patient accounts in the system and promptly re‑bill. Initiate appeals to payers following guidelines and workflows. Notate accounts and track appeals to resolution. Enter notes with actions taken. Monitor denial trends and collaborate with leadership to resolve. Inform management of any problems or changes with systems or payers during the course of daily work. Perform other duties as assigned. Travel as necessary; primarily based at HonorHealth Medical Group clinics and Urgent Care centers, and report to the corporate Network Support Services Center in North Phoenix. Education High School Diploma or GED required. Experience Three (3) years of work experience in a front‑office physician or healthcare setting, including one (1) year of supervisory, leadership, managerial, or lead experience. Licenses and Certifications Electronic Health Record (EHR) Certification – Must demonstrate proficiency in Electronic Health Record after hire by attending required training and passing the proficiency test.
