Autistic Support TeacherGlobal Leadership Academy Charter SchoolA Global Academies SchoolPreparing Future Leaders of the WorldPosition TitleAutistic Support TeacherReports ToPrincipal / Director of Special EducationPosition TypeFull-Time, 10-Month, SalariedSalary Range$68k-$78K based on qualifications and certifications.Position SummaryThe Autistic Support Teacher provides individualized instruction and specialized support for students with autism spectrum disorders in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) regulations, IDEA requirements, and student IEPs. This role focuses on academic achievement, communication development, social skills, behavioral support, and independent living skills in a structured and inclusive learning environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver differentiated instruction aligned with Pennsylvania academic standardsImplement and monitor IEP goals, specially designed instruction, and related accommodationsSupport students with communication, sensory, behavioral, and social-emotional needsUtilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions for students with autismCollaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavior specialists, and familiesCollect and analyze student data to monitor progress and inform instructionMaintain accurate documentation and compliance with IDEA, Chapter 14, and PDE requirementsFacilitate social skills instruction and promote independence and self- advocacyParticipate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussionsCreate a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environmentCollaborate with General Education teachersProfessional QualificationsBachelor 's degree in Special Education or related field (required)Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification (PK-12 or equivalent PDE-approved certification)Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders, behavior supports, and differentiated instructionExperience working with students with autism or developmental disabilities preferredStrong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skillsAbility to implement data-driven instructional and behavioral strategiesPreferred QualificationsMaster 's degree in Special Education or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)Experience with assistive technology and augmentative communication systemsTraining in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or autism-specific instructional practicesExperience in charter schools or urban education settingsAdditional InformationAnticipated start date: JulyWhy Join Global Leadership Academy?Global Leadership Academy is committed to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
