Electrical Technician I

Electrical Technician IRichmond, VAInCharge Energy is seeking an Electrical Technician I to support the service needs of its customers. The technician will work at the local branch InCharge Office, reporting to the Service Manager. Key aspects of the work include running conduit, wiring and installation, diagnosing and repairing trouble with electrical infrastructure in addition to handling regularly scheduled maintenance. The role requires significant regional travel with a focus on ensuring a timely and customer-centered turnkey delivery experience. Key objectives include maintaining safety standards and timely completion of high-quality field installation work, and field support.What You'll DoWork in both solo and team settingsUnderstanding voltage, current, resistance, and power. 120v and 240vProficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments (multimeters, clamp meters)Perform ballast and driver replacements, lamp swaps, and other lighting maintenance tasksConduct hands-on electrical work, including replacing receptacles, switches, and related componentsBasic troubleshooting skills for 120V and 240V circuits to identify and resolve issuesLearn electrical fundamentals, including voltage, current, resistance, and powerProficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments (multimeters, clamp meters)Wiring & Connections: Running conduit, pulling wire, making terminations 120vTroubleshooting: Diagnosing electrical faults and performing repairsPanel Work: Installing breakers, labeling circuits, and understanding load balancingInstallation: Mounting fixtures, outlets, switches, and electrical panelsShadow and assist experienced technicians in the field to learn EV charging systems, workflows, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices in customer service deliverySupport two-person work assignments and EPC-related field activities through hands-on assistance with installation and maintenance tasksRepresent the company at client locations with the highest standards of professional conductParticipate in training courses for Solar, Battery and EV productsYour Experience and Capabilities0-2 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settingsElectrical trainee cardOSHA 10 Card required or ability to obtain in 120 days of hireAssociate's degree or higher in an applicable technical field is desirableASE or other applicable certifications are desirableCommercial Driver's license or ability to obtain is highly desirableExcellent client-facing and internal communication skillsProficiency with Procore, or equivalent software a plusAbility to Travel 25-50%US Hourly Range$28 - $33 USDWhat We OfferFull-time employees enjoy competitive compensation and benefits package including 401(k) matching contribution, health, dental, and vision, paid jury duty, paid holidays, generous vacation and paid sick leave, opportunities for advancement, office meals and snacks, team building events and activities throughout the year.Equal Opportunity EmployerEmployment at InCharge Energy is based solely upon individual merit and qualifications directly related to professional competence.
