Are you ready to be a part of a team committed to changing the world?Who You AreAs a R&D Battery Operations Engineer you will sustain and improve the capabilities necessary to enable our customers to realize the advantages of Sila’s technology in real-world cells.Responsibilities and DutiesImplement and monitor quality control procedures to reduce defects and improve overall product qualityEstablish incoming material, in-process material, and final material inspectionSet-up SPC charts for process controlConduct RCAsWork collaboratively with technicians, scientists and other engineers to produce high qualityExperience with battery production and testing processes highly desiredLead continuous improvement projects on the battery assembly and testing processes of the R&D lab to improve safety, quality and capacityImplement lean manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma methodologies, and other process improvement strategies.Mentor, train, coach, and support techniciansMaintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes, changes, and improvementsData mining and generation of reports on process performance, efficiency, and quality metrics for management reviewScope, plan and integrate new equipment and processes, improving their performance, output and yieldInvest in our company values and vision and champion them as we growKnowledge and Skill RequirementsHands-on industrial laboratory or manufacturing experienceDemonstrated ability to learn new systems and improve themCollaborative and self-motivated working styleProficiency in data collection and analysisAbility to carefully plan and execute multiple projects simultaneouslyUnderstanding of materialsPhysical Demands and Working ConditionsPass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection on a daily basisWear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoesHands-on work in the lab expected up to 75% of the timeWork ScheduleRegular Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pmThe starting base pay for this role is between $128,000 and $162,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity.
