As a CDT at CDDU, you’ll not only develop disability claims, but also play a pivotal role in ensuring each case moves forward with exceptional timeliness and accuracy, helping safeguard access to critical disability services. Learn more about our program, as your work providing services will be through the Aging & People with Disabilities Program (APD). SUMMARY OF DUTIES This position supports the Collaborative Disability Determination Unit's (CDDU) Disability Analyst by entering and tracking client's data, generating documents and reports, scheduling and confirming clients for provider appointments, generating correspondence directed to clients, client's representatives, providers, and assisting eligible children and adults successfully seek SSI/SSDI/SSB benefits by ensuring clients understand the importance of attending scheduled appointments and return requested forms. Major duties include: Responsible for General Assistance (GA), Department of Correction (DOC) GA Pre-release, Presumptive Medicaid for Intellectual Disability/Developmental Disability Children (DD), Continue Disability Review (CDR), Children’s Intensive In-Home Services (CIIS), State Family PRE-SSI/SSDI (SFP), Disability Benefits Liaison (DBL) and Presumptive Disability Determination Team (PMDDT) cases. This position supports PMDDT's disability analysts by entering and tracking clients' data, generating documents and forms, requesting Medical Evidence of Record (MER), requesting consultative exams (CE), generating correspondence directed to clients, providers, and client representatives, and ensuring consumers understand the importance of returning requested forms. Independently manages pending caseload in various stages of development and obtains records. This includes ensuring that the medical records are organized, accurate and complete. May have contact with authorized representatives, medical providers, hospitals, attorneys, or other individuals regarding claim development. The MER request must be done in timely manner by utilizing special tracking tools or the appropriate database. Consults with DA for clarification or advice on complex claim development and caseload management practices. Reviews case information to assure it is complete, such as age, allegations, and binding disability determination decisions by Disability Determination Services (DDS) to be passed out to DA for final binding determination. Records progress of case development on databases. If consumer has an Oregon Access case, all narrations should occur in Oregon Access only. If no Oregon Access case exists, then narrate in TRACS. Using existing criteria and procedures, facilitates expedited disability decision processing for cases identified as needing placement into long-term care, discharge from hospitals or other medical emergency needs. Receives minimal supervision from a designated supervisor. Much of the work is self-initiated. The employee is expected to function with considerable independence and apply appropriate policies and procedures within the assigned area of responsibility. WORKING CONDITIONS: The person in this position will work in as fast paced office environment with a high volume of public contact. This requires detailed case record notation using computer technology, analytical skills to determine eligibility based on disability criteria, and use of organized administrative skills. Frequent in-person and telephone contact with clients who may have severe physical and or mental impairments, and whose impairments may manifest themselves as apparent hostile behavior. This position requires a flexible work schedule where hours of work may vary from day to day. Your starting work schedule will be 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST, Monday – Friday during the training period. A flexible schedule may be negotiated after training in addition to a hybrid option. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MQ's): Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR An associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience. ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES: Please address these in a cover letter. Experience reviewing applications, documents or forms for accuracy and compliance with regulations and guidelines. Experience working with confidential and sensitive information. Experience contacting collateral sources (e.g. attorneys, representatives and state and federal agencies) to resolve claims.
