Position Overview We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join a fast-paced R&D team.
In this role, you will support new product development (NPD) and current product support (CPS) activities related to Point-of-Care (POC) Assay Development. Your work will directly impact lab testing for product development, verification and validation studies for regulatory submittals, customer complaint and field issue investigations, and post-market surveillance proficiency testing.
Key ResponsibilitiesR&D & Data Analysis: Work closely with R&D sensor and reagent scientists using diverse laboratory methods and equipment to generate and analyze data supporting the design, development, and transfer of new sensors to manufacturing.
Hands-on Laboratory Operations: Perform lab-based work including preparing aqueous solutions and blood preparations, assembling consumable parts, and executing R&D troubleshooting and CLSI Verification protocols on clinical chemistry analyzers and prototype instruments.
Testing & Validation: Participate in test method development and validation by executing multiple test protocols simultaneously.
Problem Solving: Identify and resolve semi-complex problems, investigate unexpected or unusual results, and effectively communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
Lab Support Functions: Assist with chemical and laboratory inventory, data extraction, receiving materials, and authoring or revising local procedures and work instructions.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continual laboratory improvements and collaborate regularly with Research and Development, Technical Operations, and Quality Assurance personnel.
Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific majors (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Technology) or an equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of industrial experience, preferably within a laboratory environment.
Technical Skills:Experience working with plasma, serum, and whole blood.
Strong wet chemistry laboratory skills and mechanical aptitude.
Familiarity with maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with a basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis.
Compliance: Adherence to GLP, GDP, and safety standards. Willingness to work in a biohazardous environment.
Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, strong team-player mentality, high attention to detail, and a proven ability to follow written procedures precisely.
Preferred QualificationsPrevious R&D industry experience (3+ years) working in the medical diagnostics field.
Working understanding of CLSI guidance and data analysis formats.
Knowledge of basic electrochemical principles.
