Location: Riverport Area, Louisville, KY

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday - Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Pay Rate: $20.15 per hour

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Overtime: Plenty of overtime opportunities available


Position Summary


We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team in the Riverport area. This position plays a vital role in supporting logistics and supply chain operations by ensuring all inbound and outbound materials, products, and packaging are accurately received, stored, documented, and shipped according to company and customer requirements.


Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare shipping paperwork, pack lists, labels, and load sheets for outbound shipments.
• Process computer transactions to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Assign load numbers and maintain shipping documentation and records.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound freight pickups and deliveries with carriers.
• Track shipments and assist with resolving shipping discrepancies and issues.
• Inspect incoming materials and documentation for accuracy and acceptability.
• Generate reports for nonconforming materials and communicate issues to the Quality Department.
• Unload incoming materials and properly store products, supplies, and packaging.
• Pull and stage outbound products prior to scheduled shipments.
• Communicate potential product shortages to Customer Service and Operations teams.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Follow all company safety policies and report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of shipping and receiving experience required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred; automotive industry experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Moderate computer and typing skills.
• Basic math skills and the ability to calculate percentages and quantities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, instructions, and operating manuals.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 1 year or more of forklift experience

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand and walk throughout the shift.
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Constant use of hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may not be temperature controlled.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and around moderate noise levels.

Additional Requirements

• Must be fluent in the company language (English), including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Must be dependable with excellent attendance.
• Ability to work overtime and additional hours as needed.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively with team members, customers, suppliers, and vendors.
