About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours (0700-1900) Experience: Minimum of 2 years MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience required License: BLS required Certifications: ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Proficiency in cardiac drips - Experience with tracheostomy care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and glucometer use - Familiarity with common drips such as insulin and heparin drips Description: The RN will work within a busy, team-oriented environment. The role involves providing care for patients in MedSurg and Telemetry settings. Each MedSurg unit contains 20-36 beds. The patient ratios are RN: 1:4-6 and LPN: 1:4-6. Support staff includes CNAs who assist with vitals, blood glucose checks, baths, bed changes, feeding, and patient safety. Resource nurses and discharge nurses support patient care across all units. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7 along with a hospitalist and intensivist. The technology used includes an EMR system, IV pumps, and vital sign monitors. Travelers may be required to float to all MedSurg/Telemetry units as needed. Certification in MedSurg is a plus.
