Field Service Mechanic - Diesel, Hydraulics, Utility Trucks

Field Service MechanicCustom Truck One Source (CTOS) supplies a fully equipped utility truck, including a crane, welder, and compressor. Qualified candidates must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be willing to work overtime and travel as needed.Primary responsibilities include:Serving as the field expert diagnosing and repairing specialized utility equipmentWorking on bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes, service trucks, and related equipmentDiagnosing, repairing, and maintaining aerial, construction, and light/heavy-duty truck systemsPerforming inspections, troubleshooting, parts replacement, and repairs on rental, customer, and company unitsEssential duties and responsibilities include:Reporting to Service Manager, who will provide brief description of issues and supporting information related to the vehicleReading and interpreting equipment manuals and repair orders/instructions to perform required maintenance and servicePerforming work as outlined in work instructions set forth by Service Manager; efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with Custom Truck One Source standardsDiagnosing and repairing LMI Diagnostics (Load Moment Indicator) and CAN bus (Controller Area Network)Experience troubleshooting and repair of Utility trucks & Equipment including electrical and hydraulicsInspecting and servicing vehicles and making repairs and adjustments both at the service center and in the fieldVerifying work performed, road testing vehicles as necessaryPreparing inspection reports, repair orders (recording service time and parts costs) and timecards completely and accuratelyTagging all warranty and core parts for returnAdvising management immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promisedAttending CTOS safety training and following all safety requirementsAttending CTOS and factory-sponsored training classesUnderstanding and following federal, state and local regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastesCommunicating easily with customers and internal departments to ensure minimal equipment downtimeFlexibility to travel beyond the area of coverage, based on business needWorking closely with Service Manager to grow and improve customer satisfactionAdditional duties or responsibilities as designated by the Service ManagerPreferred skills include:Electrical, schematic / blueprints, hydraulic, welding, and related experienceExperience with Quick Serve, DTNA, or related diagnostic softwareDOT, ANSI, and Dielectric testing desiredRequirements include:High School diploma or GED.Five years of related experience. (Shop Tech and Field Tech)Must hold a valid driver's license. (CDL Class B preferred.)Must have your own tools.Proficient in documentation using software, meeting deadlines and schedules.Mental/Physical requirements include:Ability to regularly work in outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, and extreme heat.
