Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Gastroenterology in Lakewood, CO

• Patient Demographics: Adult, Geriatric, Adolescent
  
• Average Daily Volume: 8-10 new patients & follow ups, 5-8 scopes per day
  
• Admissions: 8-10 new patients & follow ups
  
• Case Mix: Scoping, ERCP, EUS, Endoscopy, GI Bleed, Evaluation of GI problems
  

• Trauma Level: Level 1
  
• EMR System: EPIC
  
• Specialty Backup Available: 24/7 intensivists & hospitalists, 24/7 Trauma Services
  
• Support Staff Available: None
  

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
  
• Temporary Privileges Available: Yes, 1-2 weeks with clean file
  
• Credentialing Timeline: 60-90 days standard, Emergency privs 1-2 weeks
  

• Board: Board Certified in Gastroenterology
  
• Licenses: Active CO License (Highly Preferred) or Universal License (IMLC)
  
• DEA: Active DEA Certification
  
• Certifications: Board Certified
  
• Experience: Gastroenterology Fellowship
  
• Other Qualifications: ERCP & EUS proficiency, Availability for specified dates, Acknowledgment of lodging and EMR training requirements, Local/drive-in preferred, Clean malpractice/background
  

• Perform endoscopic procedures including ERCP, EUS, and endoscopy for diagnosis and treatment of GI conditions
  
• Manage and evaluate patients with GI bleeding and other acute gastrointestinal problems
  
• Provide consultative services for adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients in an inpatient setting
  
• Cover 24-hour call shifts (7a-7a) ensuring continuous gastroenterology coverage including weekends
  
• Collaborate with 24/7 intensivists, hospitalists, and trauma services in a Level 1 Trauma center
