Head of Investment Risk - Credit Products

Develop and enhance Investment Risk function at growing platformPartner with PM's to develop portfolio construction and advise on emerging risksAbout Our ClientWell-established global financial institution, located in Midtown, NY.Job DescriptionLead investment risk oversight across credit portfolios, with particular focus on structured credit, private credit, leveraged loans and high-yield investmentsPartner closely with Portfolio Managers on portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk positioningIdentify and assess emerging portfolio, credit, market, and liquidity risksDevelop and implement portfolio-level risk frameworks, analytics, and modelsEvaluate individual positions and overall portfolios across measures including concentration, volatility, correlations and other key risk factorsConduct scenario analysis and stress testing to assess portfolio vulnerabilitiesDevelop and monitor key risk indicators, thresholds, and portfolio risk metricsMonitor macroeconomic, credit, and market developments and assess their potential portfolio impactProvide independent risk perspectives and recommendations to Portfolio Managers and senior stakeholdersSupport risk analysis for new products, investment strategies, and complex or difficult-to-value securitiesWork with large datasets to identify trends, concentrations, and other meaningful portfolio insightsDevelop and present clear, actionable risk analysis to senior managementPartner across investment, trading, research, technology, and control functionsManage and develop junior members of the risk teamThe Successful Applicant10+ years of relevant investment, portfolio, or financial risk experience, ideally within an asset manager, hedge fund, pension fund, insurance investment platform, or other buy-side environmentStrong experience evaluating credit portfolios, including meaningful exposure to structured creditKnowledge of products such as ABS, CMBS, CLOs, private credit, leveraged loans, and high-yield bondsStrong understanding of portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment risk managementExperience with portfolio risk analytics, including stress testing, VaR, correlations, concentration analysis, and related risk measuresAbility to identify emerging risks and communicate their potential impact to investment professionals and senior stakeholdersStrong quantitative and analytical capabilitiesProficiency with Python, SQL, Bloomberg, and ExcelExperience presenting sophisticated risk analysis to senior decision-makersPrior experience managing or mentoring junior team members preferredBachelor's degree in finance, mathematics, risk management, business analytics or a related disciplineWhat’s on OfferAll-in compensation ranging from $300,000 - $675,000.ContactLauren VanManenQuote job refJN-052025-6733439Job summaryFunctionCFO & Financial ManagementSubsectorCFO & Financial Management SubsectorIndustryFinancial ServicesLocationNew YorkContract typePermanentConsultant nameLauren VanManenJob referenceJN-052025-6733439About Page ExecutivePage Executive are inclusive Recruiters and Hirers, as reflected in our Clear Assured Platinum Standard Accreditation from the Clear Company.
