Compensation The compensation range for this role is $27.15 – $33.51 per hour. Final compensation will be determined by qualifications, experience, and location. Experience in the aerospace industry preferred. Possess a working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications is preferred. Position Purpose Under general supervision, fabricate the most complex cabinets and other wood‑surfaced subassemblies for installation in aircraft. Assist the lead by overseeing projects and providing guidance, assistance, and training to co‑workers. Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Fabricate complex high‑quality furniture and other wood‑surfaced subassemblies using stationary and hand‑held tools. Interpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure finished product meets design and engineering requirements with a high level of quality and detail. Coordinate with supervision to ensure compliance with customer approved design samples. Utilize a variety of woodworking tools and techniques. Comply with and champion safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and ensure the protection of aircraft interiors. Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce cost, cycle time, and man‑hours using Lean Six‑Sigma and other process improvement techniques. Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign‑off work. Additional Functions: Accept lead responsibilities when required. Mentor and train lesser skilled technicians. Oversee projects and coordinate with lead to delegate tasks to assigned technicians. Conduct safety audits and assist team members in doing safety audits. Assist in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs. Coordinate with other backshops when necessary. Adapt to sudden schedule changes. Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift. Must be computer literate. Advanced knowledge of cabinetmaking processes and products. Possess a working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications is preferred. Job requires ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
