Compensation: $47.85 - $71.72 per hour

Position Overview

Our organization is in search of a committed Registered Nurse to join the Post Intensive Care Unit III at our New Brunswick facility. This unit, also referred to as the Respiratory Care Unit, features 19 beds, each equipped with bedside monitoring and the capacity for step-down ICU or progressive care. We cater to a diverse range of medical patients, including those with ALS, chronic ventilator needs, pneumonia, and alcohol withdrawal.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Strong computer proficiency
• Preferred:
  • BSN or completion within 5 years of hire
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
  • Experience in telemetry and intermediate care
  • Prior experience with ventilators

Certifications and Licenses

• BLS and ACLS certification
• Active Registered Nurse License in New Jersey

Scheduling Requirements

Night shift, 36 hours per week, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend and holiday rotations.

Key Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the framework established by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, ensuring adherence to ethical practices as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
• Ensures safety in practice, incorporating evidence-based principles while being aware of personal knowledge and experience levels, and takes responsibility for enhancing both personal and team knowledge.
• Reports any identified safety concerns, such as hazardous conditions or medical errors.
• Maintains knowledge of the patient demographics served.
• Supervises and directs task delegation to appropriate team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
• Sets and evaluates priorities consistently, implementing appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes aimed at improvement.
• Functions as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all care aspects and tailor care plans to meet specific patient needs.
