Our delivery drivers not only ensure customers’ products arrive on time and in good condition, but they are the face of our company—building lasting relationships with our customers. The CDL‑A Driver is responsible for driving a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, OTR, shuttle, and overnight and drive-and-drop routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading food and food‑related products to customers in a safe and timely manner in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Primary Responsibilities Communicate and interact with customers, vendors and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly. Act as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company. Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer per DOT regulations and company standards; take appropriate action as needed. Report all safety issues and/or required repairs. Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Report all safety hazards immediately and inspect trailers for properly loaded and secured freight. Perform count check of items and verify customer invoices against loaded products. Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly. Move tractor to the loading dock and attach pre‑loaded trailer as needed. Drive to and deliver customer orders according to the predetermined route delivery schedule. Unload products, transport them into designated customer storage areas. Conduct damage control checks, scan items, and contact supervisor about removal of orders per company policy. Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures. Collect payment (cash or checks) when required, load customer returns onto the trailer and secure trailer doors. Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and/or secured at all times. Unload damaged goods and customer returns and bring them to the driver check‑in for necessary paperwork; remove trash from trailers as required. Complete daily record of hours of service and enter it in the log per Federal DOT, state, and company requirements. Maintain general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required. At shift end, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 12+ months of commercial driving experience. Valid CDL‑A license. 21+ years of age. Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable. Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years. Pass post‑offer drug test and criminal background check. Pass road test. Attain or maintain a current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one. Able to hand‑lift and utilize two‑wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move or stack product cases/freight ranging from 10–35 pounds or up to approximately 60–90 pounds, depending on location. Preferred Qualifications 6+ months of touch freight experience.
