Shift/Hours: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. 2-2-3 schedule Week 1: Work Monday–Tuesday, off Wednesday–Thursday, work Friday–Sunday Week 2: Off Monday–Tuesday, work Wednesday–Thursday, off Friday–Sunday We are seeking a Filter Press Operator to join our team at our Merit Steel location in Kouts, Indiana. This role will be responsible for operating and maintaining a filter press that separates and removes impurities from our industrial process. So, what will you be doing as a Filter Press Operator? Responsible for start up and shut down of filter press system. Responsible for monitoring and operating sulfate and recovery tanks. Operate and maintain pumps. Promptly acknowledge, assess, and react to system/process alarms to ensure safety and continuity. Responsible for maintaining equipment, including cleaning the refrigeration coil, de-sludge, refill and charge acid tubs. Calibrate pH meters and log readings. Clean filter press and designated work areas. Perform all tasks assigned by Supervisor, prioritizing safety above all else. To be successful in this role, you’ll need: Must be organized and able to multi-task. Must exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Committed to following established procedures to eliminate preventable mistakes and maintain high standards. At least one-year operating machinery in a manufacturing environment is required.
