Physician Assistant Certified, Orthopedic Surgery

Job Summary:

Jonathan Levy, MD is looking to add a physician assistant to his clinical team at the Levy Shoulder to Hand Center currently consisting of a physician assistant, surgical post-residency fellow, and athletic trainer. Candidates must be able to obtain certification in the State of Florida and be efficient in both the operating room and office settings. Detailed description is featured below.

Job Summary:

-Experience and efficiency as a first assist in the operating room

-Experience and efficiency in the clinical assessment and management of orthopedic patients (preferably shoulder & elbow pathology)

-Coordination of pre-operative and post-operative care of orthopedic patients

-According to established protocols, conducts clinical assessment of the patient’s healthcare status and needs and provides patient care to facilitate expected patient outcomes.

-Assess patients for pre-operative clearance.

-Provide counseling and education to patients in order to enhance patient care.

-Documents care provided in order to support the continuity of patient care and optimum patient outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Successful completion of an accredited school of Physician Assistants.

-Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Florida.

-Certification from the National Commission of Certification of Physician.

-2 years of related clinical experience preferred

-Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
