JOURNEYS | The Road Home is searching for a part-time Driver - Facility Maintenance Associate in Palatine, Illinois. If you've got the talent, we've got the opportunity!

WHAT THE JOB LOOKS LIKE:

Our Drivers - Facility Maintenance Associates typically work between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Actual schedules and times can vary based on facility needs.

You'll be the friendly person who helps maintain the building and safely drives people to various activities and destinations. Behind the wheel of our Ford transit van or minivan, you'll follow routes to safely transport people and donations. We serve people of all identities and histories, and we need someone who can treat everyone respectfully and compassionately. In addition to your driving duties, you'll also assist with basic facility maintenance and repairs to help keep everything working well and keep our building in good condition. Even though this is a part-time position, you'll still be making a full-time impact!

Interested in joining us as a Driver - Facility Maintenance Associate? Here's what we're looking for:

Valid driver's license, a good driving record, and the ability to pass a driving test administered by a supervisor
Comfort driving an 8- to 12-passenger bus or minivan - no special license needed!
Ability to lift and move 40+ pounds
Ability to follow instructions and stick to a schedule
Strong verbal communication skills
High school degree or GED equivalent

PREFERRED - Proactive problem-solving skills
PREFERRED - Ability to maintain confidentiality and stay composed during tense situations
PREFERRED - Flexibility for changing priorities and responsibilities
