About the role:

This role combines EH&S program oversight with hands-on practitioner responsibilities within a small site team. The position manages and directly executes the site Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Management System. The position supports regulatory compliance, protects employees and the environment, reduces operational risk, maintains ISO certifications, and promotes strong EH&S culture through effective program management and cross-functional partnership.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our Arbor Lakes (Maple Grove, MN) facility at least four (4) days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Implement and manage site EH&S programs, policies, and initiatives aligned with business objectives and corporate standards
• Foster a strong safety culture through effective communication, coaching, and training
• Prepare and communicate EH&S performance metrics, risks, and opportunities to site leadership
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure alignment and execution of EH&S initiatives
• Work with regional Occupational Health team, ensuring work-related injuries and claims are effectively managed to resolution
• Manage departmental resources and support budget-planning activities
• Support site emergency response and business continuity activities
• Manage site activities supporting ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification requirements, including audit readiness and corrective actions
• Ensure conformance with global Boston Scientific EH&S standards
• Oversee internal compliance audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local EH&S regulations
• Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update programs and procedures
• Manage required regulatory reporting and agency interactions, including hazardous waste, air permitting, and water programs
• Track, analyze, and report key performance indicators, including TRIR, severity rates, and leading indicators
• Conduct and oversee risk assessments and implement hazard-reduction initiatives
• Lead incident investigations and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions
• Lead and develop EH&S professionals and/or individual contributors
• Independently manage day-to-day EH&S activities while escalating significant business or compliance risk as appropriate
• Implement EH&S policies and support cross-functional improvement initiatives
• Provide recommendations regarding regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and EH&S program effectiveness

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in EH&S roles within laboratory, R&D, manufacturing, and/or operations environments
• Prior experience leading projects, programs, and/or small teams within an EH&S function
• Strong, working knowledge of federal, state, and local EH&S regulations, including Minnesota requirements
• Demonstrated experience driving change to improve EH&S performance and outcomes
• Strong communication and influencing skills within a matrixed organization
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments
• Proven ability to manage shifting priorities and exercising sound judgment

Preferred qualifications:

• Advanced degree in safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field
• ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent certification preferred
• Construction safety experience

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
