Senior AccountantAs a Senior Accountant you will lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including multi-entity consolidation, corporate close, and accounting system processes. In this role, your responsibilities include analyzing balance sheet and income statement accounts, preparing journal entries and reconciliations, and maintaining accounting subledgers. You will also manage assigned close activities and special projects while identifying opportunities to strengthen internal controls, streamline processes, improve communication, and enhance accounting effectiveness.This is a hybrid role with the requirement of working onsite at our Mentor, OH Corporate HQ, 2 days per week.What You'll Do as a Senior AccountantAnalyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, prepare reconciliations, and resolve variances and exceptions.Prepare and post recurring, accrual, allocation, tax, and adjusting journal entries with appropriate support.Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including period management, consolidation, and coordination of deliverables across business units.Run and monitor accounting interfaces, imports, allocations, and rate updates.Prepare revenue recognition schedules and related entries.Calculate and record accruals, reserves, and other period-end adjustments.Support internal controls, compliance requirements, financial reporting, and internal and external audits.Collaborate with business departments and international entities on account analyses, templates, and related communications.Support acquisitions and mergers through financial analysis and journal-entry preparation.Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.The Experience, Skills and Abilities NeededRequired:Bachelor's degree required in Accounting or Finance.Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial analysis or accounting position.Experience working within a monthly financial close process within a multi-entity organizational structure.Experience using Microsoft Office suite.Preferred:Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, and monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including the consolidation of financial results.Ability to analyze financial accounts, prepare reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve exceptions.Proficiency in preparing supported journal entries, accruals, reserves, allocations, and period-end adjustments.Working knowledge of revenue recognition, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, and audit support.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems, interfaces, imports, and reporting tools.Oracle experience preferred.Other:Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.Ability to manage competing priorities and meet recurring close and reporting deadlines.Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across business functions and international entities.What STERIS OffersWe value our employees and are committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package that supports your health, well-being, and financial future.Here is just a brief overview of what we offer:Market Competitive PayExtensive Paid Time Off and (9) added HolidaysExcellent Healthcare, Dental, and Vision benefitsLong/Short Term Disability Coverage401(k) with a company matchMaternity & Parental LeaveAdditional add-on benefits/discounts for programs such as Pet InsuranceTuition Reimbursement and continued education programsExcellent opportunities for advancement in a stable long-term careerPay range for this opportunity is $79,687.50 - $95,000.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.
