What You'll DoAs Deputy City Manager, you will serve as a key member of the City's leadership team, partnering with the City Manager, elected officials, community stakeholders, and departmental leaders to advance the City's economic vitality and strategic priorities. Key responsibilities include:Leading economic development programs, initiatives, and partnerships that support business attraction, retention, and expansion.Developing and implementing strategic policies and initiatives that align with the City's vision and long-term goals.Overseeing grant development, administration, compliance, and reporting to maximize external funding opportunities.Managing contract administration activities, including procurement coordination, negotiations, and performance oversight.Facilitating complex public-private partnerships and fostering strong relationships with business leaders, developers, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders.Supporting land use and development initiatives that promote sustainable economic growth and community investment.Coordinating cross-departmental projects and ensuring successful implementation of City Council priorities.Conducting research, analysis, and policy development to address emerging opportunities and challenges.Representing the City at community meetings, regional organizations, economic development forums, and business outreach events.What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate is a collaborative and results-oriented professional with a strong understanding of local government operations, economic development strategies, and community-building initiatives.
