Overview Driscoll Children’s Hospital seeks a Major Gifts Officer to grow philanthropic support throughout South Texas. The role focuses on relationship-driven, strategic fundraising to advance pediatric programs, expand services, and support children and families. Responsibilities Cultivate and manage long-term relationships with major donors, prospective donors, community leaders, businesses, and philanthropists capable of making significant financial contributions. Meet with individuals, organizations, and community leaders to discuss philanthropic opportunities. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts, often in excess of $100,000. Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors. Help donors align their giving interests with hospital priorities such as patient programs, capital projects, medical equipment, endowments, and community initiatives. Collaborate with hospital leadership, volunteers, and development staff on fundraising strategies. Attend networking events, donor meetings, lunches, and community functions. Develop donor engagement and stewardship strategies. Track donor activity, fundraising progress, and follow-up communications within the donor database. Partner with Marketing and Communications on donor campaigns and fundraising materials. Support fundraising initiatives that strengthen long-term donor relationships and philanthropic growth. Occasionally work evenings and weekends for donor meetings and community events. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of five years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, business development, sales, or community relations. A documented track record of securing multiple gifts and pledges of five-, six-, or seven-figure commitments. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing major donor portfolios. Hospital foundation, nonprofit, or higher education fundraising experience. Experience working with fundraising campaigns or strategic development initiatives. Experience with donor databases such as Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/NXT. Experience collaborating with executive leadership, boards, or community volunteers. Candidates with significant fundraising and development leadership experience may be considered for an expanded development leadership opportunity. #J-18808-Ljbffr
