Teacher-Nursing Pathway

The Teacher-Nursing Pathway provides instruction in the Nursing career pathway within the Skilled and Technical Sciences program at Conrad Schools of Science. The teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction that prepares students with foundational knowledge and skills related to healthcare, patient care, and nursing practices. Instruction includes classroom and laboratory experiences aligned with state standards, career readiness expectations, and industry practices.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction within the Nursing pathway.
• Provide hands-on learning experiences that introduce students to healthcare and nursing careers.
• Maintain a safe classroom and lab environment that follows healthcare safety standards and protocols.
• Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of instructional and assessment strategies.
• Collaborate with pathway teachers, school leadership, and district staff to support program implementation.
• Maintain required certifications and professional licensure.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Participate in school and district professional development and required meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current Delaware Professional Regulation (DPR) Nursing License in good standing.
• Current CPR certification.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Long-Term Care (LTC).
• Minimum of six (6) years of work experience in an area related to Skilled and Technical Sciences or healthcare, with two (2) years occurring within the past five (5) years.

Certification Requirements:

Candidates meeting the qualifications above may be eligible for a Delaware Emergency Certificate in order to begin teaching while completing required educator preparation coursework. Upon hire, the selected candidate will be required to complete six (6) credits of pedagogy coursework if not already included in the bachelor's degree program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching or mentoring students.
• Experience in clinical instruction or healthcare training environments.
• Experience working with secondary students.
