St. Wenceslaus Catholic School is seeking a caring, organized, and faith-filled educator to serve as our Full-Time Preschool Teacher/Director . This position combines the joy of working directly with young children with the opportunity to provide leadership and support within our preschool program. We are looking for someone who loves early childhood education, builds strong relationships with children and families, and can help create a preschool environment where children are excited to come to school each day. At St. Wenceslaus, our preschool is an important part of our larger Preschool-8th grade Catholic school community. The Preschool Teacher/Director works closely with school administration, preschool staff, instructional aides, volunteers, and families to support a high-quality early childhood program and ensure students receive developmentally appropriate educational experiences. Teaching & Student Responsibilities The Preschool Teacher/Director will: Plan and provide thoughtful, developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Create a classroom environment that supports children's spiritual, intellectual, social, creative, and physical development. Incorporate hands-on and experiential learning throughout the preschool day. Establish positive classroom routines and expectations. Assess and monitor student learning and development. Recognize individual student needs, interests, and developmental differences. Teach and model Catholic Christian values through words and actions. Help children recognize Christ's presence throughout their day. Provide appropriate supervision and maintain a safe and welcoming environment. Preschool Leadership Responsibilities The Preschool Teacher/Director will: Help provide leadership and direction for the preschool program. Work collaboratively with preschool teachers, instructional aides, volunteers, and administration. Help ensure classrooms and staff are prepared for successful daily operations. Support consistent expectations, communication, and practices throughout the preschool program. Maintain appropriate student and program records. Communicate regularly and professionally with preschool families. Participate in preschool recruitment, marketing, and promotional activities. Help identify opportunities to strengthen and grow the preschool program. Participate in professional development and remain knowledgeable about early childhood education requirements and best practices. Faith & School Community As a member of the St. Wenceslaus community, the Preschool Teacher/Director will actively support the Catholic mission of the school by: Participating in the faith life of the school. Supporting and encouraging the faith development of each child. Modeling Christian values in interactions with students, families, and colleagues. Participating in school celebrations, events, professional development, and community activities. Building positive relationships with families and encouraging their involvement in their child's education. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Education and/or a related field. A current Minnesota Teaching License and/or qualifications that meet applicable requirements for a preschool teacher. Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate instructional practices. Strong classroom and student management skills. Excellent organizational and communication abilities. The ability to lead and work collaboratively with teachers, aides, volunteers, families, and administration. Flexibility, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm in a busy early childhood environment. Support for the mission and philosophy of St. Wenceslaus Catholic School.
