American Leadership Academy - Johnston is now accepting applications for Teacher Assistants for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check. A Teacher Assistant supports the classroom teacher in delivering quality education to students. A Teacher Assistant will help with instructional activities, managing classroom behavior, and providing support to students as needed. Additionally, a Teacher Assistant may assist with administrative tasks and communication with parents, contributing to a collaborative and effective educational setting. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist the classroom teacher with lesson planning and implementation. Reinforce learning concepts and provide additional assistance as needed. Help maintain a positive and orderly environment. Help administer tests and assessments; support the teacher in grading assignments and providing feedback. Observe and report on student progress, behavior, and engagement. Support communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and any concerns. Help keep the classroom clean and organized, ensuring materials and supplies are readily available. Encourage student participation. Other duties as assigned.
